Charles Tally Walker

Tally was born in Aiken, South Carolina on March 11, 1939 to Bid and Cleonis McClain Walker. When he was about 7, his family moved to Register, Georgia. As a young man, Tally was baptized in the Register Baptist Church. His faith in God never wavered. He graduated from Gordon Military School in Barnesville, Georgia. In 1959, he joined the Army National Guard and was honorably discharged May 1966.

Tally married Sandra Morton on March 5, 1961, in her hometown of Waycross, Georgia, and they spent 56 incredible and loving years together. He retired after a 37-year career as a Dealer Account Manager with Ford Motor Credit Company. After his retirement from Ford Credit, he worked another 10 years as Customer Relations Manager at RiverBend Ford in Bainbridge, Georgia.

He loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and friends. Tally enjoyed watching Georgia Bulldogs football, and after moving to Tallahassee, he became a Florida State fan and a Seminole Booster. NASCAR racing was also one of his favorite sports. Tally loved sitting on the beach with his family at Fernandina Beach, Florida, which was the family vacation spot for many years.

Tally was predeceased in death by his mother and father. He is survived by the love of his life, Sandra Walker, and their children and spouses, Deborah Walker Glotzbach (Gene), Christi Walker Griffin (Wayne), Charles Tally Walker, Jr., (Holly); his five grandchildren; Dylan Walker Griffin, Georgia Lynn Glotzbach, Summer Kay Griffin, Madison Marie Walker and Eli Bid Walker; his precious chihuahua Chloe, and many friends and relatives.

A Celebration of Life for Tally will be held on September 30, 2017 for family and friends. Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (3 International Drive, Suite 200, Rye Brook, NY 10573) or the Big Bend Hospice House (1723 Mahan Center Boulevard, Tallahassee, FL, 32308).
