

Charlotte Cockcroft Thompson, age 81, succumbed to lung cancer and died comfortably and peacefully at Tallahassee memorial Hospital on July 3rd. Charlotte was born in Tappahannock, Va. To Eugene Meyer and Eva St Clair on September 6, 1941. She was adopted by George and Anne Cockcroft in North Carolina December 3rd, 1948. She was a stepmother to three sons and grandmother to six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Charlotte was an animal lover and a longer time volunteer and supporter of Guardian Ad litem. Charlotte and her late husband, George, were both very involved in the Guardian ad Litem Program in the Second Judicial Circuit for many years. She is survived by her stepsons Christopher L. Thompson and Mark G. Thompson, her grandchildren Christopher L. Thompson, Jr., James C. Thompson, Alexander G. Thompson, Chandler J. Thompson, Mackenzie P. Hennis and Jami L. Skinner, and her great grandchildren, Millie Thompson, Harper Thompson, and Easton J. Skinner.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. EST on Friday, August 25th, 2023, at Culley's Meadowwood Funeral Home, 700 Timberland Road, Tallahassee, FL 32312, (850) 893-4117.
