

Born in Benham, KY he grew up in Cumberland, KY before moving to Lower Burrell, PA where he married Clarice Dalton. Together they raised three children: Michael, George, and Jennifer Lynn. In 1973, the family relocated to Tallahassee.
He graduated from Cumberland High School in Cumberland, KY; earned a diploma as an Electric Technician and a certificate in Electronics from Penn State University in New Kensington, PA; earned ten certificates in computers and peripherals from Unisys Education Center in Princeton, NJ; five certificates in data communications systems from Sperry Univac Education Center in Minneapolis, MN and Orlando, FL; earned his diploma as a Realtor, Broker, and post licensing from The Real Estate School in Tallahassee, FL.
Mr. Dalton proudly served as an Acquisition Radar Operator and Crew Chief with the U.S. Army 5th Missile Battalion. Following his military service, he worked as a Senior Meter Reader for West Penn Power Company, a Senior Instrument Technician for Gulf Research and Development Company, and later as a Senior Customer Engineer for Unisys. After retiring from the technology field, he pursued a successful second career in real estate as a Realtor and Broker. He also served as Branch Manager for Network Cabling Services and later worked in Shipping and Receiving for First Communications.
He served as an Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 104 and spent several years as a Scout Usher at Doak Campbell Stadium during FSU football games. In recognition of his distinguished service to Scouting, he was honored with the Silver Beaver Award. He attended Freedom Church alongside his dear friends Rommel and Nena Ampaguey and their son, Roderick.
Mr. Dalton was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lizzie Dalton; his brothers, Ray (Maude) Dalton, General (Alta) Dalton, and Frank (Jean) Dalton; and his sister, Wilma (Dennis) Hughes.
He is survived by his children, Michael Dalton, George (Laurie Ann) Dalton, and Jennifer (Jay) Svendsen; his grandchildren, Sophia Dalton, Chris (Diew) Svendsen, Ashley Svendsen, and Andrew (Sarah) Svendsen; and his great-granddaughters, Grace and Rose Svendsen.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 14, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home & Memorial Park at 700 Timberlane Road. A reception will follow the service.
