

Christina West Harris, 98, a beloved matriarch and cherished friend, was born on November 12, 1927, in Brooklyn, New York. She was the fourth daughter of Harry and Christina West, whose nurturing laid the foundation for a life characterized by love and laughter. She entered eternal rest on August 26, 2026.
Christina shared her life with her devoted husband, James Harris, whom she married in Miami, Florida on September 29, 1951. Together, they built a family filled with love and warmth, raising their children with dedication and care. Christina and James were blessed with two sons, James Rowan and Timothy Harris, who predeceased her, and two surviving children, Christopher Harris, married to Martha, and Janice Rojas, married to Luis. Her legacy extends through her grandchildren, Jason Rojas (Mindi), Michelle Arney (James), Christina Rojas (Anthony Adams), Kyle Rojas, Lilianna Harris, Lauren Harris (Tori Taylor), and Blake Lococo, as well as her great-grandchildren, Ricky Rojas, Elizabeth Arney, Alexander Arney, and McKenzie Adams. Christina was predeceased by her husband, parents, and sisters, Dorothy Kilz, Florence Sullivan, and Harriet Dolinsky, whose memories she treasured deeply.
Christina was known for her gregarious personality, kind nature, and an unwavering love for her family. She was blessed with a fabulous sense of humor that endeared her to all who crossed her path. Her love for reading transported her to countless worlds, making her an avid book reader with a curious and ever-expanding mind. She also was a passionate fan of the Miami Dolphins for decades.
After dedicating herself to raising her family, Christina embarked on a distinguished career with Miami-Dade County Public Schools. Her journey began as a school registrar, where her organizational skills and attention to detail quickly became evident. She advanced to the position of regional administrative assistant before ultimately serving as an Executive Assistant to two esteemed Superintendents of the third-largest school system in the nation. Christina's work ethic and dedication left an indelible mark on the educational community she served for over three decades.
Her life was a testament to the power of grace, resilience, and an enduring commitment to those she loved. In honor of Christina's life and in lieu of flowers, her family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to Faye Clark's New Horizons in Hialeah, FL, reflecting her commitment to individuals with developmental disabilities including her eldest son, James Rowan.
Her family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of St. Augustine Plantation Assisted Living Center in Tallahassee, Florida, for the dedicated care Christina received during her later years.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, 700 Timberlane Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32312. Interment will follow the service at MeadowWood Memorial Park.
