

Christopher "Scott" Hopkins, 25, Member of the Army Reserve of 319th Medical, Pinellas Park Florida, passed on Friday, March 31st. Scott was born in Tallahassee, Florida to Randy and Marlena Hopkins on April 6, 1991. He graduated in 2010 from Saint Petersburg's High, where he played on the Green Devils baseball team. He Served in the Army as a Specialist in the Infantry, doing tours that included South Korea and Combat deployment in Afghanistan, and was currently Serving in the Army Reserve. After returning from the military he attended the First Response Training Group in Orlando, FL where he completed the course of study for the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). He went on to attend the National Personal Training Institute in Orlando, FL, where he studied and completed the Theory and Practice of Personal Training and Nutritional Consultation. Scott grew up in the Methodist faith, was an avid outdoorsman, spending countless days in the woods or on the water with his father.
Scott is survived by his son William "Bryce", his mother and father Randy and Marlena, his sister(s) Kelley Keller (Matthew), Lesley Mastalerz (Eddie), Heather Grimsley (George). A Celebration of Life will be held at Good Samaritan United Methodist church located at 3720 Capital Circle SE Tallahassee FL 32311, on Thursday, April 6th 2017 at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Sr. Pastor Betsy Ouellette Zierden will be officiating. Interment to be determined at a later date at the National Cemetery in Tallahassee.
