

Dayna Michele Furlough-Ray — a mother, daughter, sister and friend — passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 15, 2020, in Tallahassee, Florida surrounded by her loving family. She was 53.
Dayna was born on January 8, 1967, in Tallahassee, Florida to Bob and Louise Furlough. She graduated from the Florida State University in 1992 with a bachelor's degree in criminology. In 1997, Dayna met and married her best friend and love of her life, Jeff Ray, an environmental advocate. After working with a local pet store, Dayna found her passion for animals and took ownership of the House of Pets with the support of Jeff. In four short years, they brought four beautiful children into their home, setting forth the values of love, compassion, honesty, and integrity.
Dayna will be remembered for her humor and wit, her wildly bright personality, her unfailing support to those she loved and her willingness to be a friend to all. She offered steadfast support to her family, encouraging them to pursue their goals and always being proud of who they are.
Dayna’s memory will be cherished and kept alive by her husband, Jeff Ray; four children, Destin, twins Myra and Ramsey, and Isabella Furlough-Ray; father, Bob Furlough (Shirley); brothers, Reg and Stan Furlough (Ashley); and sister, Darinda McLaughlin (Rusty, Casey and Kayla). She is preceded in death by her mother, Louise Furlough.
