

He was born in Jersey City, New Jersey and was raised in Palm Beach County by his mother Mary Crowley and the late Thomas F. Crowley. During the Vietnam War he served with valor and distinction, serving two tours in Vietnam with the United States Marine Corps. After discharge he attended and graduated from Florida State University and Florida State University College of Law. As an attorney, Dennis spent decades helping the poor and the troubled. First as lawyer for Florida State Hospital at Chattahoochee and then as an assistant public defender helping the indigent in Gadsden and Liberty counties with passion and dedication. Outside of his professional life, Dennis was a loving father, an avid reader and long time Seminole sports fan.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Poole Crowley.
Dennis is survived by his son, Padraic Crowley of Tallahassee, daughter Anna Marie Poole Neel of Marianna, his mother Mary Crowley of Lady Lake, Florida; brother James Crowley and wife Memory; brother Frank Crowley; brother Thomas Crowley and wife Debra; sister Veronica Radford and husband Stephen; sister Patricia Crowley; sister Theresa Howell and husband Keith; brother Kevin Crowley and wife Melinda; and many nephews, nieces and cousins. Dennis will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A funeral Mass will take place at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 4665 Thomasville Road, Tallahassee, Florida on Monday, November 22, 2010 at 11:00 o’clock a.m. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to America's Second Harvest of the Big Bend, 110 Four Points Way, Tallahassee, FL 32305.
