Dixon Galt Robinson, loving husband and father, passed away in his Tallahassee home in the morning of October 4th, 2012.
He was born in Tampa on June 7th, 1929, and lived in Florida his entire life. He served in the US Army in the Korean War and settled in Tallahassee after attending FSU, graduating in 1957. It was at FSU where he met his wife of 56 years, Jane Robinson, marrying in June of ’56. Dixon lived an active life in the Tallahassee community, with dedicated service to the Holy Comforter Episcopal Church, the Boy Scouts, and the Rotary Club (as former Rotary president, chairperson for the Salvation Army Bell-ringer program, and with 50 years of perfect attendance). As a local businessman, Dixon made a career in the printing business, eventually retiring from Duplex Products in 1994.
He was a dedicated husband and father, spending most summer weekends with his family and Labrador retrievers at their Lake Mystic retreat. Dixon always enjoyed the great outdoors, and spent much time gardening, camping with the scouts and church, and traveling to Elderhostel programs in his later years. He proudly wore garnet and gold often.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Jane; and their four sons, Dixon (Cindy), Ridge (Robin), Scott, and Robert; daughter, Barbara; six grandchildren, Ridge, Summer, Sierra, Alexis, Kassidy, and Noah; and great grandchild, Emma Kate.
