

A grandson of German immigrants, Don was born October 4, 1927 in Tama County Iowa. He graduated from high school in Gladbrook Iowa. After serving as an aviation mechanic in the U.S. Navy, he, along with his first wife Rosa made his home on a farm in the community of Buckingham, Iowa. After farming for 38 years, he spent his retirement traveling and residing in the western U.S. with his second wife Delores. They eventually resettled in the mid-west in Waterloo, Iowa.
Don is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Magda (Wrage) Kroeger; brothers, Robert and Roger Kroeger; his wife, Delores (Pusteoska) Kroeger; one son from his first marriage, Jimmie Kroeger; and a sister, Evelyn Gummert.
Don is survived by two children from his first marriage; a son, Tony (Diane) Kroeger of Tallahassee, FL; and a daughter, Margaret (Mike) Belk of Douglas, GA. He is also survived by three step-children, Deborah (John) Troupe of Waterloo, Iowa, Dave (Connie) Trimble of Ocala, Florida, and Dennis Trimble of San Antonio, TX; as well as sister-in-law, Sue (Larry) Nachazel of Traer, IA. He was blessed with 12 grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.
He was dearly loved.
A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held on August 17, 2024 at 11:00am Geneseo Methodist Church 3127 115th Street, Buckingham, Iowa
