She was married to Robert Harrell Burgess for 20 years. Doris worked as a bookkeeper, store clerk, in the school cafeteria and over 20 years as a motor vehicle title clerk for the State of Florida. She was a current member of the Pentecostals of the Capital City and had a passion for sewing, cooking and her church.
Doris is survived by her 6 children, Latretha Miller (Wayne), Kay Miller, Judy Screws, Bobbie Rednour (John), Thomas Burgess (Alicia), Marrell Cooper (Phillip); 18 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Thomas Golden (Sue) and Joyce Hartsfield.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 26 at 11:00 AM at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home, 700 Timberlane Rd, Tallahassee, FL. Service will begin at 12:00 PM with a burial to follow at Culley’s MeadowWood Memorial Park.
