Doris Schneider Carlton

Doris May Schneider Carlton (“GG”) of Tallahassee, Florida passed away at the age of 91 at the Margaret Z. Dozier Hospice House surrounded by family on May 23, 2026, after a short illness. Doris was born in Kansas City, Missouri and later moved to San Diego, California where she met her husband, Don Carlton, who was stationed in the Navy. They married and moved back to Florida to raise their six children. Doris worked at Morrison’s Cafeteria for more than 30 years.

Doris was preceded in death by parents, George and Josephine Schneider, husband, Don Carlton, sons, Dennis Jeffery Carlton and George Christopher Carlton, brothers, Danny Schneider and Johnny Schneider, sisters Mary Schneider and Patricia Hendry, and daughters-in-law, Deborah Carlton, Kathy Carlton and Patricia Carlton.

Doris is survived by her children Michael Carlton (Melinda), Patrick Carlton, Terri Carlton and Amy Carlton. She is also survived by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren: April Matthews (Perry), Tyler Carlton (Stephanie), Sarah Young (Allen), Michelle Knott (Clint), Christina Carlton, Casandra Roberts (Shannon), Shane Carlton (Christina), Christopher Carlton (Tonya), Lance Carlton (Megan), Tiffany Neumans, Nicole Crum, Sage Tueller, Forest Tueller, Madison Carlton, Harper Carlton, Kaia Young, Marigold Young, Rebecca Knott, Laura Knott Garcia (Joey), Charlotte Knott, Abigail Knott, Donovan Carlton (Seriena), Errick Carlton, James Carlton-Rivers, Lillianne Roberts, Alanna Roberts, Kameron Roberts, Austin Carlton, Zachary Carlton, Logan Carlton, Matthew Carlton, Nevaeh Knauss, Tristan Mahaffey, Jayden Mahaffey, Abygail Neumans, Wyatt Neumans, Levi Neumans, Bobby Lamb, Morgan Lamb Barrett (Colin), Waylon Barnett, Willow Barnett, Karmi Carlton, Alina Carlton, Brenda Mahaffey, Deborah Morgan Darnell (Terry), and Comasina Morgan.

In keeping with her wishes, no formal services will be held. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
