
Doris was born on August 2, 1919 in Buffalo, New York, to John Hugo Ludwig and Anna Hayes Ludwig. She attended D'youville College in New York.
Doris met her husband, John D. Williams, Jr. at Camp Blanding, Florida during World War II where she served as a stenographer for the Judge Advocate General. They were married on February 3, 1943. Following the war, Doris and John D. moved to Tallahassee where she served as the loving matriarch of her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was much loved by family and friends. Doris was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church; Capital City Country Club, Springtime Tallahassee, Elks Club, Town Club and served a Chairman of the Cookie Drive for the Big Bend Girl Scouts.
Doris was predeceased by her husband.
She is survived by three daughters and one son - Karen Williams Smith and husband Doug; Christine Williams Speer, Kathy Williams Doolin and husband Chris, John D. Williams III and wife Tina all residing in Tallahassee; six grandchildren ? Kevin W. Smith of Tallahassee, John B. Smith II and wife Bri of Tallahassee, Christian B. Doolin, Jr. and wife Carla of Washington D.C. , Worth Williams Hages and husband Mike of New York, New York, Stacey Speer Smith and husband Drew of Tallahassee, and Sarah E. Doolin of New York; and four great grandchildren ? Avery L. Smith, Ty W. Smith, Kate B Smith, and Claire B. Smith.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am, Saturday at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 4665 Thomasville Road. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
