She was born October 19, 1925 in Montezuma, Georgia, the daughter of William Howard and Edith Milford Cook. A longtime resident of Tallahassee, she retired from Lewis State Bank where she was a computer programmer. After retirement she and her husband lived on the Ochlockonee River in Smith Creek, FL where she was a member of Sopchoppy United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, William R. Brooks.
Survivors include two sons, William R. Brooks, Jr. and his wife Lynn; George H. Brooks and his companion Cathy; a daughter Lucy Edwards and her husband Randell; 4 grandchildren, Greg Marr, Jr.; Billy, Travis and Justin Brooks; and 7 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at noon, Saturday, July 16, followed by funeral services at 2 PM in the Timberlane Road Chapel of Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, 700 Timberlane Road.
