
Born August 10, 1927 in Seffner, Florida, Dorothy was the youngest daughter of John Henry and Mildred
McCulloch Lentz. She graduated from Brandon High School in 1944 at the age of 16, and began working at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. There she met her future husband, Floyd H. Crowder.
She lived in Miami, New York City, Atlanta, New Canaan, Ct, and Tampa as her husband was transferred during his career at Metropolitan Life.
Dorothy is survived by daughters Judy Crowder of Tallahassee, Donna Crowder of Tampa, Carole Volz (and husband Gregg) of Lenni, PA and Joyce Davis (and husband Chris) of Columbus, GA; stepsons, Dan Crowder of Tallahassee, Terry Crowder, (and wife Toni) of Sarasota, and Gary Crowder of Keithville, La; sister, Sadie Lobo of Temple Terrace; brothers, Henry Lentz of Clarksville, TN and Frank Lentz of Tampa; many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Floyd Crowder, sister Margaret Withrow and brothers John R., Gary, Carl and Ken Lentz.
Per Dorothy’s wishes there will be no public services. Among her favorite charities are American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, National Breast Cancer Research Center and Habitat for Humanity.
