Earl Frederick "Fred" VelDink Jr.

Earl Frederick (Fred) VelDink, Jr., 69, died Thursday, June 30, 2016 in Tallahassee, Florida. Fred was born on June 30, 1947 in Gainesville, Florida, and graduated from P. K. Yonge Laboratory School in 1965. Fred attended the University of Florida and was a lifelong Gator Fan. He retired in December 2007 from the Florida Department of Revenue after 35 years of service in the General Tax Administration Program. He was a lover of all things Disney and enjoyed many family trips to Disney World and Disney cruises.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Dena VelDink and his sister Gayle VelDink.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Kim Duggar VelDink and their son Max VelDink of Tallahassee; his son Eric (Chrissie) VelDink of Gainesville; two grandchildren, Michael and Samantha; his sister Sandra Richardson (Lee) of Bristol, FL; a niece, Lynn (Tom) Smith and a great nephew Shane Smith of Tallahassee.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 6 at 2:00 PM at Immanuel Baptist Church in Tallahassee. The family will receive friends for visitation after the service.
