Eddie Pylant Weil (100) passed away Friday January 15, 2021. He was preceded in death by his loving wives Lucy Crutchfield and Ruth Muse, by his father Ory, mother Gladys, brothers, Ory Jr. and Charles. He is survived by his sons Larry (Linda) Weil (Las Vegas) and Jerry Weil (Atlanta) and daughter LuAnne (Robert) Winchester (Tallahassee). He is survived by his grandchildren Ashley (Scott) Evans, Heather (Andrew) Gardner, Caroline Winchester, Cassidy Winchester, Chelsea Weil and Kathleen Weil. He is further survived by his great grandchildren Pace, Claire and Palmer Evans.
Eddie was born in Mobile, Alabama in 1920 and spent most of his childhood in Birmingham and Corinth Mississippi. Eddie served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WW II stationed in England. Eddie remained in Tallahassee after the war as a serial entrepreneur. In his later years he owned and managed various rental properties around the Tallahassee area.
Eddie was a true southern gentleman who loved to spend time with family. He loved to dance and play cards when he was not tending to his properties. His children have fond memories of many late night card games and ski trips.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Eddie’s name may be made to Big Bend Hospice ( www.bbh.org).
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 19th, 2021 from 11AM-12Pm at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home ( 700 Timberlane Road, Tallahassee, FL 32312). A service will be held at 12PM also at the funeral Home. Interment is to follow the service on the grounds of MeadowWood Memorial Park . At the conclusion of the graveside committal, friends are invited to join the family for a reception in the Azalea room at Culley’s MeadowWood.
