A Tallahassee native, Edward spent many of his childhood years living on the grounds of the Tallahassee Jr. Museum, where his mother was the Museum Director. Together they learned to care for the animals, set up informational exhibits, grind sugar cane and perform other pioneer farm chores. Here he developed a love of nature and art that followed him throughout his life. After graduation from Florida High and TCC Edward was introduced to the culinary arts and ice sculpting. He enjoyed carving ice sculptures for Springtime Tallahassee Krewes and for other special events, leading to becoming the head chef at Forest Meadows Racquet Club, sous chef at Capital City Country Club, the Radisson and private catering. After years of cooking long hours and holidays, Edward decided to make a huge career change and began working for US Marine-Brunswick.
In 1991, he married his one true love, Cindy Vores, and both delighted in making a home on wooded acreage in the country, with pets ranging from dogs and cats to a Mynah bird, orphaned squirrels, and a 25-year-old turtle. Left to cherish fond memories in addition to wife, Cindy, are his mother-in-law, Greta Vores; brothers-in-law, Scott and Steve Vores (Jan); niece, Tiffany Vores; nephew, Steven Vores; cousins, Jim, Larry and Guy-Wayne Turner, and Jerome Schrieber; good friends and four special pups. A private family service is planned for a later date.
