Ed Pfiester, 82, of Tallahassee, passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2018 after a short battle with cancer. The son of George Samuel Pfiester and Flossie Josephine Harbaugh Pfiester, Ed was born on September 10, 1936 in Clay City, Indiana. The bearer of several advanced degrees, Ed was a graduate of Moody Bible Institute, The University of Dubuque, Rollins College, and the University of South Florida. Ed and his wife Nancy have been united in marriage since April 5, 1960.
For 36 years, Ed worked as an education supervisor with the Florida Department of Corrections. Ed was a member of the Tallahassee Heights United Methodist Church and had a passion for his God, his family and helping others.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nancy. He is also survived by his daughters, Melissa Lescher (Mark) and Jennifer Pfiester, and his son, Stephen Pfiester (Bonnie). He is also survived by his granddaughter, Casey Lamb, his grandsons Mark Ryan Lescher, Joseph Lescher, and Wesley Lamb. Additional survivors include his sister, Diane Pfiester and his brother Ralph Pfiester.
