Betty was born March 12, 1930, to Homer Lee Adams, Sr., and Eula Mae Pace Adams in Clermont, Florida. She grew up in Lake Butler, Florida, and moved to Tallahassee to begin a career at the State Road Department, where she met her future husband, Thomas Burton Webb, Jr. They married November 16, 1958, and were married for 48 years until his death in 2007. They followed Tom’s career to Chipley, Florida, before returning to Tallahassee in 1971. Betty loved entertaining, travel, and fashion. But she loved her vacation home on St. George Island most of all.
She is predeceased by her husband, parents, son Thomas Burton Webb, III, two brothers Homer Lee Adams, Jr., and Aubrey Adams, and a great grandson, Thomas Palmer Webb.
She is survived by daughter Jean Webb Buford (Rivers H. Buford, III), and son Robert A. (Bob) Webb, both of Tallahassee; daughter-in-law Glenda Whitehead Webb of Lake Butler; sister Frances Peterson of Mount Dora; four grandchildren, Dr. Wendy Webb Mandese (Joey) of Gainesville, Thomas Daniel Webb (Nicole) and Andrew W. Webb, both of Lake Butler and Kathryn Elizabeth Buford of Tallahassee; five great-grandchildren Ally Mandese, Tommy Mandese, Curran Webb, Campbell Webb and Holden Webb; sister-in-law Frances Greenwood of Pensacola; and beloved nieces, friends and neighbors.
