At the onset of the revolution in Russia, her parents had to flee their homeland, ending up in Tehran, Persia (Iran) where she was born on November 12, 1922.
During World War II, they had to flee once again, ending up in Germany from where, after the war, they traveled and settled in Venezuela in 1947.
Once in Venezuela, she met the love of her life and married Waclaw Zubr, an immigrant from Poland also fleeing the ravages of the war.
They worked hard and flourished in Venezuela where they had their three children.
For the last time in 1989, sensing future turmoil in the country, they decided to relocate to the United States where they lived out the rest of their lives.
Though her life was filled with great difficulties, she lived it with unwavering love, kindness, a quiet wisdom and a smile remembered forever within our hearts.
She is survived by her three children Wanda, Hasia and Andres, three grandchildren Ashley, Andrew and Lili, two great-grandchildren Cadance and Abby and nephews and nieces among them, Withold and Anna whom she considered like her own.
In lieu of fresh cut flowers, the family asks that you send potted flowers that they can plant in memory of Elizabeth, or to make a donation to Big Bend Hospice.
