Elmer Terry "E. T." Dawkins

A native of Robertstown, GA, he was a longtime Tallahassee resident. E.T. was a retired field auditor for Independent Life and Accident Insurance Company. He was a member of Parkway Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School. He was a World War II Air Force Veteran. Most important to E.T. was his family. He rarely missed his sons, Terry and David’s ball games and sometimes assisted in coaching.

E.T. was preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Emily, who passed away in 2006.

Survivors include his sons, Terry Michael Dawkins and his wife Cyndy of Sapphire, NC and David Alan Dawkins and his wife Tamie of Tallahassee; a sister, Anna Jo Davidson of California; three grandchildren, Michael Scot Dawkins and his wife Sarah, Eric Alan Dawkins and his wife Jerica and Rachel Lynn Dawkins; and one great grandson, Noah Michael Dawkins.

Family will receive friends from 6 – 8 pm Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home,1737 Riggins Road.

Graveside service will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at Westview Cemetery in Nashville, GA.

Family would like to thank the staff of Clare Bridge and Covenant Hospice for the loving care provided to our Dad during his final days. E.T. will be remembered by all who knew him as a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and a very good neighbor and friend.

Arrangements are under the direction of Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home in Tallahasee, Florida.
