She was born December 28, 1920, to her parents, Hugh and Gertrude (Daniels) Goodwin in Roe (Cedar Island), North Carolina, and moved to Tallahassee in 1954 where she remained with her family until her death.
Elsie is survived by her son, Frank and his wife, Mary June McKamey of Carrabelle, Florida; daughter, Barbara and her husband Larry McBride of Tallahassee; 10 precious grandchildren, Pamela, Michael, Michelle, Angie, Ronnie, Lucky III, Joey, Matthew, and Sarah; 12 great-grandchildren, Brian, Jordan, Tanzia, Aaron, Austin, Ashley, Cheyenne, Riley, Katie, Lucky IV, Eli, and Thea; and one great-great-grandson, Westley.
Elsie is predeceased by her son, Michael McKamey; her daughter, Margaret Beaumont, her grandson, William McBride, all of Tallahassee; and her sister, Hattie Blair of Venice, Florida.
Memorial services celebrating Elsie’s life will be held 3:00 p.m., Monday, July 8, 2013, at the Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home, Timberlane Road Chapel, 700 Timberland Rd., Tallahassee, Florida 32312.
Elsie will be remembered as a loving, hardworking woman, who never met a stranger. She was dearly loved by many and will be greatly missed.
