Elzie Mosteller Collier, 93, died peacefully Saturday morning, August 20, 2016, after a brief illness. She was born in Cullman, Alabama on November 6, 1922. In addition to raising 7 children and being a homemaker, Mrs. Collier was also employed outside the home. She was a Christian and member of the First Baptist Church of Monticello.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 44 years, Charles Collier; a daughter-in-law, Carol Collier; 5 brothers; and 2 sisters. Survivors include 7 children: Charles Collier, Jim Collier, and Shirley Dattolo (all of Tallahassee); Jerry Collier (Oklahoma); Ovett Collier (Michigan); Deborah Espey (Marianna, Fl.) Esther Nicholas (Chipley); 17 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home at 1737 Riggins Road on Tuesday, August 23, with visitation beginning at 10:00 am, and the funeral service at 11:00 am. A private family burial will follow in Chipley, Florida.
