Estelle Burke Saffels, 92, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2011.
Born in Haynes, Arkansas, she grew up in Chattanooga, Tennessee and made her home in Tallahassee in 1942. Estelle was a founding member of Tallahassee Heights United Methodist Church. She was a retired Department Manager for Sears-Roebuck Company. In her later years, she made Cherry Laurel her home.
Survivors include her daughter, Anita Lawson ( and her husband Hugh) of Greensboro, NC; two grandchildren, Laura Lawson and Matthew Lawson; and one great granddaughter, Jacqueline Lott.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Lawrence Saffels who died in 1982.
Funeral service will be held 10:00 am Wednesday, December 21, at Tallahassee Heights United Methodist Church with interment to follow in Roselawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6 - 8 pm Tuesday, December 20th at Culley's Meadowwood Timberlane Road Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Estelle's memory to Tallahassee Heights United Methodist Church.
