Fenton Carroll Hurdle passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 14, 2015. He was born on October 6, 1937 to Fenton and Ada Hurdle in Hertford, North Carolina. He was retired from the Leon County Sheriff’s Department.
He is survived by his wife, Martha; son Lee Mullins (Michelle) daughters Ava and Sofie; daughter Crystal McElvy (Joey) sons Mick and Cody; Heather Fisher (Darrow) daughters Aria and Jesse. Son Jeff Hurdle (Jeffrey).
He is also survived by his brother Lenwood Hurdle of Prairieville, Louisiana, and Kathleen Doughtery of Dorchester, Mass.
He loved his retirement years spent fishing and camping with his friends at the Ecofina River. He will be remembered as a good husband, father and grandfather. In particular with camera in hand to record his family’s history. He loved and was loved and will be missed greatly.
The family would like to invite friends to a visitation on Wednesday, September 16 from 5 to 7 at Culley’s on Riggins Road. A memorial will be held at a later date.
