

She was born the youngest of four children to John Sanderson and Neva (Totten) Sanderson in
Marysville Kansas on April 23, 1940. She is survived by her siblings, Mary (Sanderson) Wetzel
and Etta (Sanderson) Myers. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Bruce
Sanderson, husband, William Campbell and granddaughter, Amber Syme.
Florence attended Bob Jones University and subsequently entered the United States Air Force
after graduation. She met her husband, William “Bill” Campbell while serving in California. They
were married in a civil union in Las Vegas, Nevada on November 1, 1961. Their union would
last for 49 years and produced four children, Elizabeth (Campbell) Syme, Douglas Campbell,
Ronald Campbell, and Dr. Robert Campbell. Their spouses are respectively Edmund Syme,
Joanne Campbell, Karen Campbell, and Cathy Campbell. Florence was also blessed with 13
grandchildren, Amber Syme (deceased), Abrem Syme, Quinn Campbell, Alexis (Campbell)
Heinrich, Matthew Campbell, Eliyah Campbell, Aurora Campbell, Emily Campbell, Regan
Campbell, James Campbell, Maya Campbell, Kara Campbell, and Grayson Campbell.
Throughout her life, Florence held a number of retail jobs but her primary focus was raising her
children. She enjoyed art, gardening, reading, fishing, sewing, needlecrafts, and traveling. She
also enjoyed supporting charitable causes including support of the Lakota Indian Tribe and The
Linus Project for whom she donated many hand-made blankets for children.
Florence will be interred with William for eternity at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell,
Florida at an undetermined future date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be
made to Big Bend Hospice (Tallahassee, Fl) in her name.
