Frances Singleton Connell

Born September 2, 1932 to Ethel Cutchen and Jesse Singleton, Frances spent her entire life in Tallahassee. She was a 1951 Graduate of Leon High School. After graduation she worked as a teller for Tallahassee Sate Bank. She married J.T. Connell in May of 1959 and celebrated almost 55 years of marriage. In 1960, she was employed by the Department of Highway Safety and was awarded many certificates of achievements and commendations for her work performance. She retired as a supervisor in 1992 with 32 years of service. After retirement she was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her husband and family, gardening and spoiling her dogs.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, J.T. and sister, Louise Dodson. She is survived by her nephew, Larry Dodson (Christy), brother-in-law, Bobby Connell (Pat), sisters-in-law, Bobbie Connell, Mary Connell and Annie Lou White and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend our gratitude to the staff and management of St. Augustine Plantation for the care they gave Frances.

Family and friends will gather at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home, Riggins Road Chapel, on Sunday, November 2nd from 5pm-7pm. Graveside services will be held at Roselawn Cemetery, Monday November 3rd at 10:30am.
