Freda "Suki" Gale Horne

Suki was born in Manhattan, NY, and adopted during infancy by loving parents, Dr. Michael Lorenzo and Dorothea Galehouse Lorenzo. Suki moved to Vermont, where she enjoyed rock climbing, biking, snow skiing, and playing the guitar. Settling in South Georgia and North Florida later in life, she maintained her love of the outdoors and would often kayak or fish the local waters. She overcame many hardships in her life, and she held tight to the token she received for 30+ years of sobriety.

Suki lived a full life, dedicated to helping and healing others. She started her career as an EMT in ski country, served for decades as a registered nurse, and finally became a licensed acupuncturist. Suki traveled throughout the US, to China multiple times, and to the Holy Land on pilgrimage. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic parish.

Suki’s parents, her brother, Michael, and her husband, Larry Horne, all predeceased her. She is survived by her son, Zebulon Fenton of Pipestone, Minnesota; “inherited” sons, Brandon Horne (Dena) and Lee Horne (Kris); grandchildren, Dominic, Xzavier and Jemma Fenton; Dillan Horne (Kati) and Gage Horne (Morgan); great-grandchild, Sophia Horne; and many dear friends.

Visitation will be held at Culley’s MeadowWood, 1737 Riggins Road on Monday, August 17, 6 – 8 p.m. Funeral Mass to be held at Blessed Sacrament (contact church for details). In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Big Bend Hospice in gratitude for the care they provided Suki.
