Genett is survived by her children, Jeffrey Lightfoot (Victoria), Craig Lightfoot (Mary Beth), and Gwen Lightfoot. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chesley Lightfoot (Colonel, USAF) and granddaughter Laura Moose. She is also survived by grandchildren Janet Lightfoot, Jamie Lightfoot, Julie Lightfoot, April Falconette, Travis Lightfoot, Coleman Lightfoot, Christopher Cammarata, Daniel Cammarata and Matthew McCain and by seven great-grandchildren.
After her husband’s retirement in 1970, they relocated to Tallahassee to be close to their Georgia families and yet near the coast. Genett immediately became active in the Tallahassee Garden Club and pursued the educational training to become a Master Flower Show Judge. She was very talented and creative with flowers and often brought home the top prize from shows that she did not judge. She was very active in her church, Killearn United Methodist, and strong in her faith.
Private, graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 PM on Monday, March 7, 2022, at Culley’s Meadow Wood on Timberlane Road. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the charity of their choice.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.CulleysMeadowWoodFuneral.com for the Lightfoot family.
