Genevieve Ketterman

Genevieve (Genny), 92, was born at the family home, 106 S. Pershing Avenue, York, PA, on August 6, 1925. She died in Tallahassee, Florida, on May 2, 2018. She was the daughter of the late George Philip Ziegler, Sr. and Sadie Irene Hoffman Ziegler. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Ketterman; her brother, G. Philip Ziegler, Jr.; and a son, Michael C. Ketterman. She is survived by daughters J. Wendy Williams of Tallahassee, FL, and Margaret A. Martin (Andy) of York, PA. She is also survived by grandchildren Nicki Smith Miller (Tom), Dallastown, PA; Matt Bender (Maureen), Baltimore, MD; Shanna Smith, Annville, PA; Abby Bender Kirkland (Craig), Tallahassee, FL; and step grandson Christopher Martin, York, PA. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Kenzie Kilbourn, Tallahassee, FL; Kevin and Kelly Miller, Dallastown, PA; step great-grandchildren Bernadette and John Brezinski; Ford (Stephanie), Shelby and Reid Kirkland; Brittney Widel; and step great-great granddaughter Cora Kirkland.

Genny attended York City schools and studied music and piano with E. Grace Ziegler. She was a member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Sunday church school and the Senior Group. She was employed by the Star Laundry of York for many years before becoming a homemaker.

Her ashes will be returned to York for burial in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
