George Henry Berryman

He was born in Tallahassee, FL on November 16, 1935 to Nalls and Helen Berryman.

George owned his own business “Berryman Scale Company” and worked as a scales repairman. His joys in life were fishing, his family and his little dog Chico. George enjoyed fishing and walking with his dog on the beach. He loved to smoke mullet and cook fish dinners for his family. He spent most of his life in St. James and Carrabelle where he lived in a little cottage with his wife Myrtice until she passed away in June of 2006. George moved to Heritage Healthcare after he suffered a major stroke five years ago where he lived until his death.

He is predeceased by his parents Nalls & Helen Berryman, two sisters Kitty Boland and Margaret Berryman and two brothers William and Edward Berryman.

George is survived by one brother Charles D. Berryman of Tampa, FL and three daughters Helen Phillips (husband Wychie) of Tallahassee, FL, Georgeanne Henderson (husband Mark) of Havana, FL and Betty Ann Berryman, Randy Driggers of Dothan AL., and eight grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.

George loved the water, fishing and most of all his family. He loved swimming with his children and grandchildren at the beach. His favorite place to eat was Sonny’s and he enjoyed many dinners brought to him while at Heritage by his children. While at Heritage he enjoyed many visits from his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Three years ago while in the hospital he trusted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He will be greatly missed here on earth but we rejoice in the fact that he is healed and whole in heaven with Jesus.

A visitation for George will be held Tuesday, November 16, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, 1737 Riggins Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32308. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Roselawn Cemetery, 843 Piedmont Drive, Tallahassee, Florida 32312, with Dr. Erskine presiding over the service.
