He was born in White Plains, New York on July 31st, 1935. George graduated from Georgia Military College, served in the Air Force and attended the University of Florida. His career was in surveying and mapping, working first for the State Road Department, then the US Coast and Geodetic Survey and finally the Florida Department of Transportation where he retired after 30 years of service. He enjoyed scuba diving, sports cars, exploring caves, classical music, and he especially enjoyed many camping trips in Colorado during his retirement.
George is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Eileen, one son Kevin (Angie), two grandsons Jack and Tommy, and his sister Gail (Jack).
A graveside service will be held 2pm, November 20th, 2018, at the Tallahassee National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to either Big Bend Hospice or in support of Parkinson’s research.
