Georgia Ann Stahl

Georgia was born on September 26, 1940, in Portland, Oregon, to Ralph Hayes and Myrtle Stevenson. She spent her childhood in Miami, Florida, where she was lovingly raised by her mother, Myrtle Sullivan, and her stepfather, R.J. Sullivan.

While living in Miami, Georgia met the love of her life, Jerome Stahl. They were married in June 1961 and built a wonderful life together, raising their family in Miami before eventually settling in Tallahassee.

Georgia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerome Stahl; her son, Andrew Stahl; and her sister, Suellen Sullivan. She is survived by her loving daughter, son, and cherished grandchildren, who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

Georgia earned her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) degree from Florida State University and found her calling as an office nurse. She genuinely loved caring for others, and after retirement she continued to serve her community as a volunteer at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare. Her greatest joy as a volunteer was visiting with patients and their families, offering comfort, kindness, and a listening ear.

She treasured living in Tallahassee, close to her family and her alma mater, Florida State University. Georgia dedicated her life to caring for others and was always the first person her family could count on. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond nursing. She had a remarkable green thumb, loved gardening, and took great pride in growing beautiful orchids. Summers were especially special to her, spent relaxing and entertaining family and friends at the family's river cabin, creating memories that will be cherished for generations.

Above all else, Georgia was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her children and grandchildren were the greatest joy of her life, and she delighted in supporting them, celebrating their accomplishments, and simply being present for every milestone. She was also a treasured friend who maintained lifelong friendships from her years in Miami, at Florida State University, in Tallahassee, and in Blue Ridge. Her warmth, compassion, and genuine interest in others touched countless lives.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at The Grove at Canopy, where Georgia made her home and was lovingly cared for as she transitioned from Assisted Living to Memory Care. They are also deeply grateful to Big Bend Hospice for the exceptional care, comfort, and support they provided during her final weeks.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Big Bend Hospice in honor of Georgia's life of compassion and service.

Georgia's legacy is one of kindness, generosity, unwavering love, and selfless care for others. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
