She was born in Dallas, Texas and had made Tallahassee her home thirty years ago. Gloria attended Calvary Chapel and was a retired cashier with Harvey’s Grocery Store. Gloria love to spend time with her family and enjoyed working in her garden, tending her flowers.
Survivors include three sons, Rockney (Elizabeth) Akom, Steve (Karen) Akom and Timothy (Gwen) Akom; six grandchildren, Michael (Julie) Akom, Nicole (John) Joens, Scott (Lindsey) Akom, Stephanie, (Buddy) Vickers, Jamie Akom and Timothy Akom; and six great grandchildren, Shawn Michael, Maxwell, Calvin, Mattie, Bryce and Amelia.
A memorial service will be held 7:00 pm Friday, January 4, 2013, in the chapel of Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home, 1737 Riggins Road. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd. Tallahassee, Florida 32308.
