

Son of Walter and Else Lengemann, Günter was born in Dissen, Germany on June 20, 1948. He was an apprentice at Fennel GmbH in Germany, a manufacturer for optical instruments. There he learned all aspects of manufacturing and repairing surveying equipment. With this knowledge, he immigrated to the United States at the age of 23 to join the family precision mechanics business, G. Lengemann Company in Niles, MI and then in 1986 Lengemann of Florida in Altoona, FL. Günter was a family man to his core and became a proud US Citizen in 1977. He enjoyed golfing, playing and watching soccer, ballroom dancing, and skiing which he learned while in the German Army Mountain Infantry.
Günter was preceded in death by his parents and his uncle Gerhard (Hannelore) Lengemann. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Barbara Lengemann; brother Volkhard (Gerlinde) Lengemann; cousins Ralph (Elke) Lengemann and Susan (Bobby) Croft; son Michael (Ralna) Lengemann; daughter Tanja Bacigalupi; stepchildren: Ben Stevens, Katie (Chris) Stevens-Magler, and Ali (Micah) Bradley; grandchildren: Tobi, Aspyn, Alex, Luke, Molly, and Hannah.
In keeping with his wishes in lieu of a burial, Günter’s ashes will be scattered in places he held dear. A celebration of life will be held at a later date when it is safe for family and friends to gather.
