

Harold Rudolph Dowdy (Pepa), born on July 8, 1930 (87) in Jacksonville, Florida; of Tallahassee, passed away on May 10, 2018. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Virginia Dowdy; son, H. Richard Dowdy (Teresa); daughter, Amy D. McClellan (Jeff); Grandchildren, Kristin Anderson (Jeff), Jennifer Lewis (Jason), Ashley Newtson, (Cody), Joshua McClellan, (fiancée Kayla Taylor), Great Grandchildren, Elyse Anderson, Chance Anderson, Samuel Lewis; sister, Mary Jo Miller of FoxFire, N.C., and beloved dog, Walton.
Harold retired from General Motors Acceptance Corporation. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran and served in the Korean Conflict. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling out of town to Georgia and Florida State University football games. Harold also enjoyed family outings and fishing, but most of all, Harold loved to share stories and jokes. His life was enriched with true and faithful friends.

The celebration of Harold’s life will be held at Culley’s MeadowWood on Thursday, May 17, 2018, between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM.
