Dr. Harry Waters Davis

Dr. Harry Waters Davis of Tallahassee, FL, 81, born September 16, 1944, in Wilmington, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 19, 2026. He was a beloved Husband, Dad, Brother, and Poppy who loved the Lord, his family, and his Florida Gators.

Dr. Davis received his bachelor's degree at the University of Florida in 1966. He received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at Virginia Commonwealth University in 1970. He received his master’s degree at the University of North Carolina in 1982. Dr. Davis served in Florida’s Department of Health’s Dental Health Program, until his retirement as the Dental Executive Director in November 2009. Dr. Davis also served in the United States Army Reserve, until his retirement at the rank of Colonel in 2004.

Dad/Poppy’s favorite things to do in life were spending time with his family and his dog Charlie, watching Florida Gators Football, playing and watching golf, traveling, going on Disney vacations, and fixing everyone’s electronic issues.

Dr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents Harry Riley Davis and Ruth Waters Davis, his twin granddaughters Hannah and Holly Barrentine, and his niece Amy Davis. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Marie Davis, his twin brother Riley Davis, his sister-in-law Marguerite “Ditti” Davis, his daughter Carrie Davis Barrentine, son-in-law David Barrentine, his daughter Tina Davis, his son-in-law Marty Davis, his daughter Suzie Serna, his son-in-law Louie Serna, his grandsons Kenny, Andy, Cody Barrentine, and Christian Serna, his granddaughter Joy Serna, and niece Chrissy Davis.

Visitation will be 12pm-1pm Wednesday, February 25th at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home and Memorial Park at 700 Timberlane Rd Tallahassee, FL 32312. Committal Services will be held at 2pm at the Tallahassee National Cemetery at 5015 Apalachee Parkway, Tallahassee, FL 32311.
