Henry “Hy” Womack, 56, of Tallahassee died Thursday (4/9) at his home following a long illness. A native of Greenville, Mississippi he came to Tallahassee 40 years ago from Orlando. He retired as a paramedic from Tallahassee Memorial Hospital after many years of service. An outdoors man he enjoyed Boating, Scuba Diving, and camping. He also collected RC cars and helicopters and was a formula one racing fan. Hy enjoyed working with his hands and did both leather working and making jewelry. A BMW motorcycle rider, he was a member of the Poverty Riders and the Pirates of the Conch Republic.
Survivors include his wife: Jennifer Austin; sons: Will of Chattanooga, TN, Zack currently stationed in Kings Bay, GA; sisters: Nan McCoy of Lake Havasu, Arizona, Rosie (Alec) Redfearn of Ormond Beach, and Kelly Artless of Orlando.
There will be a memorial service for Henry at The Retreat at Bradley's Pond, 9002 Bradley Road, Tallahassee, on Sunday, April 19, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
