

Henry G. “Hank” Wooster, age 86, passed away on June, 10, 2015 at Capital Regional Medical in Tallahassee, Florida. Mr. Wooster was born in Atlanta, Georgia on April 10, 1929 to the late Kirk and Susie Wooster. Mr. Wooster served as a Sergeant for the U.S. Army Air Core in the 57th Fighter Squadron, 95th Ordinance Company, 2nd Armored Division from 1946 through 1949. He worked as a trainman for the Southern Railroad where he met and married Charlotte Matthews. He then began his 25 year career as a correctional officer for the U.S. Penitentiary in Atlanta, Georgia, leading to a promotion to Lieutenant and transferred to FCI/FDC Tallahassee, Florida. He went on to hold positions of increasing responsibility including Captain, Unit Manager, and Associate Warden upon retirement. He was happily married to Charlotte for 57 years until she passed away in 2007. He was a member of the Evangel AG Church in Tallahassee.
Mr. Henry Wooster is survived by his two daughters, Diane Deerman, and Charlene Ming, (6) grandchildren, (17) great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and his friends, including close friend Margaret Weatherly.
Visitation will be held 5-7pm on Monday June 15, 2015 in the Dogwood Room of Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home - Riggins Road Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at 10am on Tuesday June 16, 2015 at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home - Timberlane Road Chapel with Reverend Robert Lecce officiating. Interment will follow in Culley’s MeadowWood Memorial Park.
