

He was one of five children born to the late Hobson and Lillie Mae Stephens on December 17, 1925 in Phoenix City, AL. Mr. Stephens enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in 1942 at the age of 17, serving in the South Pacific and again the Korean conflict. After his discharge Mr. Stephens and his wife, Earlene spent more than 50 years in Tallahassee and he retired from the Tallahassee Federal Correction Institution (FCI).
He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Earlene; his son and daughter-in-law, William and Joan Stephens of Tallahassee; grandchildren, Adele and David Paul of Wewahitchka, FL., Amanda and Chris Sexton of Crawfordville, Fl.; great-grandchildren, Chase Harvey, Alexandra Paul, and Hannah Sexton; sister, Florence Lott of Columbus,
GA .Mr. Stephens was preceded in death by his brothers, Stow Stephens, James Stephens and Milton Stephens.
Graveside Service will be held at Tallahassee Memory Gardens 4037 N. Monroe today (Tuesday, September 27,2011) at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 or Big Bend Hospice 1723 Mahan Center Blvd .Tallahassee, FL 32308
