
Howard Ray Hardison, 72, of Tallahassee passed away peacefully Saturday evening September 1st 2012 at his home.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Annetta Mae Hardison.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, EDT, Thursday, September 6th at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, 700 Timberlane Road, Tallahassee, FL 32312. Interment will follow also at Culley's MeadowWood Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on September 6th from 12:00 to 2:00 prior to the service at the funeral home.
Gifts in memory of Mr. Hardison can be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, FL 32308.
A resident of Tallahassee since 1978, Mr. Hardison held an Associate's in Business from Owensboro Business College and is an eight year Army Veteran, who served one tour in Vietnam where he was awarded the Bronze Star. He was the maintenance director at North Florida Christian School from 1978 to 1984 and later started his own business, HR Custom Wood Products, where remained self employed for 22 years. He enjoyed working with wood building cabinets, hutches, entertainment centers, etc. Many people remarked how his attention to detail was his strengthening talent in his building.
He was a member of North Florida Baptist Church (formerly Temple Baptist Church) where he was a faithful usher.
Other survivors include his son Howard "Hoss" Hardison and his wife Marsha of Tallahassee; his daughter, Shannon Renee Smith and her husband Marcus Smith of Lutz FL; grandchildren; Robert Hardison, Sarah Hardison and Rebecca Smith; twin sister Faye Dorris of Owensboro KY; brother, Thomas Hardison of San Diego CA; and sister Rachel Bowers of Owensboro, KY.
Mr Hardison was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Mary Hardison, sisters; Olene Escue, Lucille Cox, and brother Bewley Hardison.
Arrangements are under the direction of Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home in Tallahassee, Florida.
