Irene was a graduate of St. Catherine's College of Nursing in St Paul MN. She was on staff at the Dale Mabry Hospital and was part of the original staff at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital (TMH) when it opened. Soon after, Irene and several nursing colleagues formed the first private duty nursing registry in Tallahassee. After a 50-year nursing career, she retired at age 75.
During the last eight years of her life, Irene was lovingly cared for by Cory Miller who became her most trusted friend and companion. Her life was greatly enhanced and extended because of her exceptional care.
The family wishes to also acknowledge the kind and loving care provided by Juana Powell, Charleatha Hall, Karen Hall, Sha'Brina Mack, Christy Harbin and Wendy Lee over the last twelve years all adding personal touches which contributed to her long life.
We thank Almighty God for her life.
