Iris Elizabeth (Beth) Rowe Lisenby, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully departed this life on September 5, 2024, in Tallahassee, FL. Born on September 13, 1942, in Blakely, GA, she was the daughter of David C. Rowe and Charlie Bush Rowe, who preceded her in death.
Beth attended high school in Miller County, GA, where she met her future husband, Oscar Lisenby. They were married in 1959, embarking on a lifelong journey of love and partnership. The couple moved to Tallahassee in 1964, where they became devoted members of Fernwood Baptist Church. Iris’s faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she actively participated in the church’s ministries, finding great fulfillment in her spiritual community. Her strong faith and dedication to her church were evident in her every action and relationship.
Known for her enthusiasm for shopping, camping with her family, and fishing, Beth also took immense joy in tending her garden and nurturing her flowers. These hobbies mirrored her vibrant spirit and love for life.
However, her greatest joy came from her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family lovingly called her "NaNa," and her home was a place of warmth, joy, and spiritual grace.
