

Born on December 26, 1938, in Malden, Massachusetts, Irving was the son of Louis and Etta Pomeranz and came from a large family. Irving spent his career as a master electrician and the proud owner of Pomeranz Electric. Through his example, he instilled a strong and lasting work ethic in his four daughters.
Irving was the father of four daughters with his former wife, the late Judith Pomeranz-Saperstein (née Shulman): Marcia and Donald Blalock of San Antonio, Texas; Joyce and Randall Baker of Tallahassee, Florida; Brenda Montgomery-Petterossi and her husband, Richard, of Naples, Florida; and Miriam and William Richmond of Saint Petersburg, Florida. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Irving is survived by his brothers, Stanley, Martin, and Harvey Pomeranz.
For the last ten years of his life, Irving shared his life with his longtime companion, Phyllis Berger, and their beloved dog, Buster. Irving enjoyed fishing, traveling, cruising, and music.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at MeadowWood Memorial Park, 700 Timberlane Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32312.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Congregation Shomrei Torah in Tallahassee.
