

Jackie Trapp was born in Atlanta, Georgia to John Fahy and Rose Lyons Davis. She graduated from Girls’ High School in 1942, received her Bachelor of Science degree Magna Cum Laude in Zoology from University of Georgia on June 13, 1947, and married Robert Lewis Trapp on October 19, 1947.
Jackie made a home for her husband and her two sons, Robert Lewis Jr. and Stanley Gregory, in Jacksonville Beach. She continued to provide for her sons’ upbringing and education after her husband was taken from her too early in life. She worked as a Medical Laboratory Technologist, founded the Medical Laboratory Technologist Internship Program at St. Vincent’s Hospital, and concluded her career as a full time Instructor in the Medical Laboratory Technician Program at Florida Junior College, North Campus. She earned a Masters Degree in Vocational Education from FSU in 1973, including 9 credit hours from UF. Her memberships included Players-by-the-Sea, the American Association of University Women, and the Registry of Medical Technologists of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists.
Jackie retired and moved to Tallahassee in 1985 where she became actively involved at Trinity United Methodist Church, The National League of American Pen Women, Museum of Florida History, and the Tallahassee Garden Club.
“Jaja” nurtured three grandsons Robert III, Kevin, & Michael and is also survived by two sons Robert (Kathy) and Stanley (Kathleen), her brother Wesley Davis (Barbara), 3 nieces and 5 nephews. She was predeceased by her two sisters Kathryn Moss and Evelyn Mathews and one brother Michael Davis. The family shared in a private memorial service. Donations in the memory of Jacquelyn Trapp may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Project of Tallahassee.
