Jim Dolson, 66, of Tallahassee, FL, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2013.
He was born on November 20, 1946, in Durham, NC. He served in the military, and was awarded a Bronze Star and Army Commendation Medal for his acts of heroism during the Vietnam War. He served as the treasurer at Holy Comforter Episcopal School through the planning and building of their middle school. His service to the school was commemorated with a flagpole dedication on the new campus. Two of his main enjoyments in life were golf and bridge. Jim worked for the state of Florida for the Department of Transportation and Department of Education, and retired from the Department of Transportation. After his retirement, he was a member of the OLLI writers' group. A compassionate and empathetic man, he helped his friends and family without question.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Ret. Col. and Mrs. James F. Dolson, Sr.
He is survived by his daughter, Gena Dolson; former wife , Libby Horn Dolson; sister, Katharine Dolson; and nephews, Richard and Michael Dolson.
