

Jim was a proud member of the United States Army for 21 years. During those years he served three tours in Vietnam, was stationed in Germany and many bases across the United States. After Jim retired from the military, he enjoyed traveling the country in his 18-wheeler. He was a walking atlas and could provide directions to any place upon request. In his free time, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, watching his grandchildren play sports or participate in the bands they were involved in, and enjoying the sunshine with some occasional fishing.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Earl German, his mother, Wilma German, his ex-wife, Linda VanEmburgh, his sister, Mary Howell, and his brother, Gary German.
Jim is survived by his siblings, Gene German, Bill German, and Linda Tate, his children Danny German (Colorado), Tracey Musso (Colorado), Staci Mortham (Tallahassee, Florida) and James German (Tampa, Florida), as well as his grandchildren Samuel McRae, Hope Mortham, Hunter Mortham, Tyson Mortham, and Devin Mortham.
Funeral Services will be held graveside at Tallahassee National Cemetery on Wednesday September 9 at 10:00 am. In keeping with Jim’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral services held.
