James served as member of the United States Army for 20 years before becoming a Master Electrician for several Texas oil companies. While both of his careers required extensive travel, James liked to remind everyone that he was just a good ole country boy that was proud to be from and live in God’s country. In his retirement, James was happy to focus on his family and beloved church, Shady Sea Missionary Baptist Church. Serving the community through the church’s food pantry was a real source of joy for James.
During his lifetime he may have been known affectionately by many names, James, Papa, Uncle James, Mr. Jim, but his family is honored that what he will be remembered by most was his caring heart and passion to serve others.
