

James Allen "Jim" Putnam,74, passed away Monday, June 4, 2012 at his residence.
A celebration of Jim's life will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, June 14th, 2012 in the chapel of Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, 1737 Riggins Road.
Born in Springfield, Illinois, Jim made Tallahassee his home in 1979. He had worked for Figg & Mueller on Bridge Design and was retired from the Department of Transportation as an Engineering Tech. Jim was an artist. His works were displayed at Bradley's, Market Days at the fair grounds and Mule Days in Calvary, GA. An avid golfer, Jim was a member of the Havana Golf Club and was always ready to play.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Diana L. Putnam; six sons, Dennis James Putnam (Terry Bietsch), Michael Putnam ( Berry), Douglas Allen Putnam (Darin), Stuart Putnam, Tracy March and Tim March; four daughters, Terra Newman (Adrian), Tina Ashenfelter (Mark), Tami McIntyre (Robert) and Elizabeth Ann Clark; brothers, Robert Putnam ( Carolyn) and Joseph Putnam ( Pam); sisters, Mary Roberts, Marilyn Hunter (Cliff), Carolyn Inman (Art) and Yvonne Hyatt (Jim); his sister-in-law, Joyce Putnam; 26 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother John Putnam.
