James Albert Ward

James married his high school sweetheart Geraldine Arnold on July 24, 1960. They adored each other even after 61 years of marriage. James settled in Tallahassee where he obtained his MBA from Florida State University and started his career in State government. James was a man of faith and was a member of several local churches through the years always finding a way to serve the Lord and others.

James retired in December 2002 as Deputy Executive Director/ Administration of the Florida Public Service Commission. In retirement he enjoyed spending time with Geraldine, picking up his twin grandchildren, Cathy and Jimmy, from school and spending time at the family farm with his brother-in-law, Dewitt.

James was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Kenneth Dewitt Richards, Sr.; and nephew Kenneth Dewitt Richards, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Geraldine; daughter, Sandra Hall (Doug); daughter, Sonya Pace (Donald); and grandchildren, Nathan Hall, Audra Hall Bankston, Catherine Pace and James Pace. He is also survived by his sisters, Caroline Richards and Lynell Morris (Jerry); nieces; nephews and many cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at 1pm at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, 700 Timberlane Road, with the funeral service to follow at 2pm.
